      International agreement on olive oil and table olives (2015) is a kind of international commodity agreement, which is adopted by the United Nations after negotiation at the Palais des Nations in Geneva on October 9, 2015. Based on this, the International Olive Council is an authoritative organization in the field of global olive trade. The earliest version of the agreement was first signed in 1959, and the sixth version in 2015 is valid until December 31, 2026. This paper mainly introduced the work objectives of the International Olive Council, terms related to olive oil and edible olives, the composition and administrative structure of the council, the participation shares of member states in the council and the calculation method. By summarizing the general principles and organization of the current international agreements on olive oil and edible olives, this paper aimed to help China's olive oil industry integrate into the external circulation of international trade. As a major importer of international bulk primary products, China should take the initiative in the standard formulation of other primary product trade rules, make more Chinese voices, and make Chinese contributions to the improvement of global governance.
