Objective To investigate the hypolipidemic effect of almond peptides on hyperlipidemia model of rats. Methods A high-fat diet was used to form a mixed animal model of hyperlipidemia in rats, and 40 healthy male SD rats were randomly divided into 5 groups, namely blank control group, hyperlipidemia model group and low dose, medium dose and high dose of almond peptides groups (0.4, 0.8 and 1.6 g/kg BW, respectively). The blank control group was given maintenance feed and the remaining groups were given high-fat diet daily. After the corresponding test substance was continuously administered orally for 30 days, the level of serum total cholesterol (TC), triglycerides (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) were determined in rats. Results The serum TG, TC and LDL-C levels of the rats in the model control group significantly increased than the blank control group (P<0.05), suggesting the mixed hyperlipidemia animal model was established. The serum TC level significantly decreased in the low-dose of almond peptides group than the model control, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05), and the serum TG level in each dose of almond peptides groups did not significantly decreased than the model control group (P>0.05). The serum HDL-C level of in each dose of almond peptides groups did not significantly declined than the model control group (P>0.05). Conclusion At a certain dose, almond peptides have an auxiliary effect of reducing blood lipid. |
