Objective To investigate the exposure of polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and poly brominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs) in freshwater products, and evaluate the human health risk. Methods The aquatic products were freeze-dried, extracted by accelerated solvent extraction (ASE), removed fat by dispersive solid phrase extraction (SPE), deeply purified by solid phase extraction (SPE), and measured with gas chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS). Results Among 97 kinds of samples in 14 classes, the average detection rates of PCBs and PBDEs were 97% and 61%~71%, respectively. The mean concentration of ∑51PCBs was 2588 pg/g ww with the range of 328~12724 pg/g ww and median level was 2135 pg/g ww. The mean concentration of ∑39PBDEs was 454 pg/g ww with the range of 56~2210 pg/g ww and median level was 294 pg/g ww. Conclusion At present, Shanghai residents who eat fresh water products will not be in danger of human health due to the residue of PBDEs and PCBs, however, infants and young children (generally 2~3 years old) who consume large amounts of fish and shrimp should reduce their consumption. |
