Sample pre-treatment is a critical step in the laboratory measurement, since food samples are variable and cover lots of fields. The paper reviewed several aspects that were essential to maintain the accuracy and precision of determination results. Based on the products to which the MRLs apply, we compared the regulated analysis portion in our country and others. Several questions about the analysis portions were also mentioned. According to the Gy’s fundamental sampling model, particle size was employed as a readily detectable and controllable parameter to evaluate the necessity of sample homogeneity and size reduction on achieving representative samples. Newly developed instruments, cryogenic mills, had lots of advantages and their potential applications were discussed. Sample storage was also included in this paper. |
