Objective To establish a method for simultaneous determination of Cu, Ag, Zn, Cd, Hg, Cr, Mo, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Sr, Ba, Al, Pb, As, Sb, and Se in poultry drinking water by inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Methods The collected water samples were purified by 0.45 μm membrane filters before being analyzed with inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Then 18 metal elements of Cu, Ag, Zn, Cd, Hg, Cr, Mo, Mn, Fe, Co, Ni, Sr, Ba, Al, Pb, As, Sb and Se in poultry drinking water could be determined simultaneously by inductively coupled plasma – mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). Results This method had a wild linear range of calibration curve for determination of 18 metal elements and the linear correlation coefficients were more than 0.999. The detection limits were low and the relative standard deviations (RSD) were not more than 2.6%。The recoveries for the spiked samples ranged from 82.0% to 103.0%. Conclusion This method has many advantages, such as good repeatability, without complex pretreatment steps, fast testing velocity and it can be applied to the simultaneous determination of 18 metal elements in poultry drinking water. |
